1. “My dog doesn’t listen or know commands like sit or stay, will that affect the photoshoot?”
Good news: Your dog doesn’t need perfect manners for a photoshoot.
As long as they’re willing to have fun and enjoy a few treats, we can capture tons of adorable—and often goofy—moments. Part of the fun is them living their best life!
2. “My dog won’t wear props; do we have to use them?”
Props are totally optional!
I have a variety of collars, bandanas, headbands, hats, and birthday accessories if you’d like—but natural photos without props are just as beautiful.
You are also more than welcome to bring your own!
3. “I want photos of my puppy, but I feel they are too young and won’t sit still.”
Puppies are always welcome!
Puppy sessions are kept short, fun, and low-pressure. It’s a great way to introduce them to a new environment and build confidence and socialization skills, plus, it's never too early to start capturing those lifelong memories!
4. “I’m not sure my dog would do well or even enjoy it.. how would I know?”
Completely understandable!
I’m happy to chat beforehand about your dog’s personality and behavior. And if we try the session and your dog isn’t comfortable, there’s no charge for the shoot!
Most dogs, even if they are stressed or hesitant to be in the studio, eventually warm up and have a great time. There is no time limit to your private shoot, so we will take as much time as we need to make sure they are comfortable!
5. “Are dogs forced to pose?”
Not at all!
My studio is set up so dogs can be off-leash and move freely. I work with them naturally using treats, toys, and play to capture authentic photos. If your dog knows commands & tricks, we will absolutely capture those though!
6. “Do dogs actually eat the lollipops?”
Nope! The lollipops are just props.
I put a little peanut butter or cheese on the back so dogs can lick it, which creates those adorable shots!
7. “Can I bring more than one dog?”
Absolutely!
You can bring as many pups as you’d like, but I usually photograph them one at a time to capture each dog’s personality.
At the end of the session, we can try some shots with them together if you'd like!
8.“Do I need to groom my dog beforehand?”
A light brush helps, but your dog doesn’t need to be perfectly groomed. I do highly recommend that if your dog has long hair, to trim the face around the eyes, so they remain clear during the photos.
9.“How long does a session take?”
Sessions are tailored to your dog—usually short and fun, about 30–45 minutes depending on how confident they are in the studio. There is absolutely NO rush if your dog needs extra time to warm up and relax before we start!
10.“Do I have to pay for a session even if my dog doesn’t cooperate?”
Nope!
If your dog truly isn’t comfortable, and we did not get any photos, there’s no charge. We want happy dogs, not stressed ones. I will offer a reshoot in an outdoor setting at a later date if that is something you are interested in!
